Stage Two

I have now stopped out the plate and added the bitumin. Dropped into the sulphur and cleaned up the plate. Today I hope to print the plate up from my home studio. Have been ill in bed with the flu and today will be my first day out to bed. I have set this task in front of me . To measure if I'm up for work tomorrow. Hate being ill, it is so boring for the artist.

Aluminium Etching Plate

I am painting watercolour onto the print to give me an idea where to block out next. Before dropping plate back into the sulphur. It's a tedious process and one that cannot be rushed. The results I hope will be amazing. All of my subject matter come from my own garden. I may hav an old messy house but I've got an amazing garden, thanks to the previous owners.

The Red Dog Day

After having a few days off from printmaking I had to finish an oil painting. Sometimes, waiting for inspiration can be painful. This particular canvas has had more than a few paintings on it. This process, however can add to the texture of the work. Finally I the painting is finished.this It is very large and looks striking, would suit a contemporary home, or rustic home really. The paint is still drying, but it does need a good home. $500 for pick up only.

There is symbolism behind this work, the red dog is the other personality to the black dog. The black dog is often represented as depression. The red dog, for me, represents the angst that recedes the depression. When everything is not moving fast enough, when you are super sensitive, highly stressed, overly alert, impatient, tired and ready to bite!
